End of the World?

Hardly. When talking to a girl, and getting neither a firm yes or no when inviting her to go do something, it can be hard to know just what to think. So you'll probably see me fluctuate between tentative, if reserved hope and abject frustration over the next few weeks.

You are forewarned (ominous background sounds go here).

Nail her down, man! Specific place and time. None of this amorphous sometime in the future before the Lord comes. [sighs] Don't listen to me. Seriously, most of my vast dating experience comes from watching Blind Date and Friends.

I offered a choice of two specific days (this Friday or Saturday}, with a reasonably specific time ("in the afternoon" which would actually mean different times on different days because of the schedule of the rink) to go ice skating. Specific enough? I know she's a busy gal, and wanted to maximise the trade-off between specific and flexible.

Why? I once read an article online containing dating advice from the 50's. The only thing I remember: "Be specific." Don't just say some time, some place. So, maybe the insane things you pick up from your "sources" has something valuable.
