Evidently, Nevada ranks a solid and definite last-place in terms of the percentage of the population that volunteers time in some way, at 17.5%. Our neighbors to the East rank first, with just under 46%. It is likely that Nevada's number is inflated slightly by the resident Mormon population.
There could be some other interesting trends, but I want to pick over the full report before I leap to any conclusions.

I am interested to find out what things they count as volunteer hours. Thanks for giving me something to read during class.
You're welcome. Anything I can do to provide diversions. Side-note: how are things on the Purdue campus since the Virginia Tech shootings? Are people going about their business, or is it more subdued?
It is being talked about but I think things are fairly subdued. The professor that I TA for knows the parents of one of the dead students so we talked about it a little bit.
It is crazy what happened. I have talked to my Korean friends about it and they hope that they don't get singled out because the shooter was Korean. I think most people will realize this.
