I vote largely Republican, mostly because I believe in fiscal restraint. The Republicans have demonstrated anything but. I expect Democrats to do the same, but in a divided Congress, it's less likely to get through without (1) mutually pork-loaded provisions, or (2) actual restraint and compromise.
I doubt any end-of-world predictions will come to pass from a Democratic House when a Republican President can still veto bills and a Republican majority or fillibuster-proof minority can play the sore loser.
I see restraint coming from a inter-party clashes when it did not arise from intra-party cooperation. I'm thinking of voting Democratic in my district's House race, despite significant differences of opinion about several other topics.

Interesting that you would consider voting Democrat, Mr. Conservative. As long as Jim Gibbons doesn't win the Governor's office, all is good. A good friend of mine from high school is his nephew, and Shane says his uncle can be a jackass. Anyway, haven't heard from ya in a while and thought I'd leave you a little something here.
It was Lord Acton who said that power corrupts, and absolute power tends to corrupt absolutely. He went on to say that for this reason "great," or powerful, men are almost always bad men. I presume the same applies to Titus.
I did say that calling me at home in the evening is the best way to reach me. I should have added the caveat that Sunday night is when I'm at church. That, and any night when there is a Pack game (such as the exhibition tonight), I am likely to be unavailable. And the way our phone is set up, I can't call long distance from it. But really, I'm just horrible about calling people back.
