What is the bare minimum needed for "church" to happen? Please, comment. Christian or not, religious or not - what has to happen for a gathering of people to become a "church service?"
If you want any advice, I'd reccomend the following:
Just because something happens in a church in the bible does not mean that it has to happen. What does the Bible require? Exceptionally good question.
Parting thoughts: Why do we call it a service? Does it have to happen within an established community? Can you do it without a sermon? Prayer? Communion? Fellowship? Offering? Coffee? Bulletins?
Funny you should ask. I have a paper due in two weeks asking what the Bible requires for a service (as opposed to a church).
